Modern Slavery

I was stunned to learn that there are more slaves today than there have ever been in the past. 27 million people are enslaved today. Did you know that? The region where there are the most slaves is in South Asia, in the countries of Nepal, Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan.

This organization is a non-profit that works to raise awareness, conduct research to identify areas where people are enslaving others, and raises money, and mobilize people to take action to stop this inhumane practice.

Worth your while websites 4

Chad and I continue to search for worthwhile ways to share the money that God has given to us. In that search, we came across an organization called Tearfund that originated in the UK. It addresses such current world issues such as modern slavery, fair trade, global warming, feeding the world’s hungry, caring for AIDS patients, and more. As a Christian organization it addresses all these for the higher goal of restoring health with God and with one another. Seems to be just a really upstanding organization. Their doctrine is healthy and their vision is a reflection of Christ’s heart for us.
